Peterborough Greenspaces including Wildspaces!
Peterborough Greenspaces Project aims to encourage involvement, enjoyment and an increased awareness of ten Peterborough nature reserves. It also aims to help people to understand why these reserves are important for city wildlife by improving management, encouraging access, promoting events and providing information.
The three-year Wildspaces! Project, largely funded by English Nature, has been instrumental taking this work to the next level and encouraging the further designation of more Local Nature Reserves in Peterborough as places to treasure.
The main aims continue to be to:
- Involve the local community in managing and monitoring existing and potential new Local Nature Reserves
- Encourage local action to help implement the Local Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP) for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough
- Ensure the sites are accessible and inclusive to all groups and individuals
- Input to local environmental strategies
