Wildlife Training Workshops

The Wildlife Trust runs a wide-ranging programme of wildlife training every year, actively supporting the personal development of its volunteers and encouraging those new to natural history to join in and learn more about their local wildlife.

For total beginners wishing to learn a new topic, the training programme includes a series of “Beginning With…” training workshops which include subjects such as birds and bats.  These workshops are an excellent start before moving onto other more detailed workshops, if you wish to do so.

Following the success of our “Beginning with Wildlife” events, 4 more are taking place in 2010 in Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire and Peterborough. These workshops are aimed at people who are new to a particular geographical area, new to the Wildlife Trust, or people who just want to know more about their local wildlife.  In addition to presentations, these events will include a short, guided walk around a local nature reserve.

In providing this training, we are helping to continue Britain’s rich tradition of amateur naturalists and ensuring that the best known flora and fauna in the world are as well documented in the future as in the past.

For further information on our Wildlife Training Workshops, see the PDF, on the right of the screen, for the 2010 programme or visit our Events page.
