Activities for all
You can get involved in a variety of Trust activities across the three counties. These have been divided up into including events, volunteering and training opportunities. Most of these can be viewed in our diary of activities. For further details please follow the link below.
Events
Events for all age groups are available in the form of family events and plant sales and open gardens, which take place across the three counties. Specifically for young wildlife enthusiasts are events organised by Wildlife Watch and other events available to all the family include guided walks, illustrated talks and meetings about wildlife, although some may not be suitable for very young children. Wildlife Travel is for adults who want to discover wildlife further afield
Volunteering opportunities
Volunteering is a rewarding experience that allows you to develop skills and interests, to meet new people and, above all, to contribute to the conservation of some of our most valuable natural areas. A number of ways to volunteer include Wildlife Trust Ecology Groups, for people who want to actively support and learn about their local wildlife, and nature reserve work parties, which are listed in the diary. Please follow the link for volunteering opportunitites.
Training opportunities
Wildlife Training Workshops - The Wildlife Trust runs a comprehensive programme of wildlife training that is available to everyone. There are many opportunities to learn more about different aspects of local wildlife, enabling you to enjoy and understand the countryside better. This includes our nature reserves where much of the training is held. For more information about our training workshops, please contact Juliette Butler on 01604 405285 or trainingworkshops(at)wildlifebcnp.org. Alternatively, please follow the link for the Wildlife Training workshop programme or see the diary of activities.
Teacher training - Many teachers are interested in teaching their students in an outside environment. Wildlife Trust education staff are experienced field teachers who are eager to pass along their skills in leading outdoor education for people of all ages. Advice, training and support are provided to teachers through one-to-one meetings, orientation sessions and workshops. Schools and community groups are encouraged to use Wildlife Trust sites and other green spaces for 'real world' learning, and Trust education staff can help build the skills and confidence to do so. For more information, please get in touch with your nearest education centre.
