Get involved

The different ways in which people can get involved at Grafham Water are listed below. Further details of specific events can be found on our Events database. Alternatively, you can Get in touch with the Centre manager.

Work parties - are for adults who want to learn conservation management skills and help enhance the nature reserve. Volunteers meet at 10am every Wednesday at Mander car park, Grafham Water.

Grafham Water Wildlife Watch Group is for children aged between 8 and 13 years who are interested in wildlife and the environment. Meetings are led by registered leaders and are held on the first Monday of each month from 2pm - 4pm.

Youth and community groups can get involved in a variety of tailored activities including practical conservation work, educational activities or recreational tasks. Visits are in the evenings or at weekends, with some groups visiting occasionally, whilst others on a more regular basis. Get in touch with Debbie McKenzie, the Centre manager, for further information.

Wildlife Training Workshops give people the opportunity to learn more about different aspects of local wildlife to enjoy and understand the countryside better.

Wildlife Trust Ecology Groups are teams of volunteers covering clusters of nature reserves with similar habitats. Their main activity is fieldwork throughout the year, which requires natural history skills such as species identification, to monitor species and habitats and the way they are managed.

School membership - The Wildlife Trust offers a special programme for schools who wish to support our work and learn more about helping wildlife. Please follow the link for more information.

There is also a range of Volunteering opportunities people can get involved with. Please follow the link for more information.
