Community opportunities

Peterborough Wildlife Watch/Explorers is for children aged between 8 and 13 years who are interested in wildlife and the environment. Meetings are led by registered leaders at Ferry Meadows.
Opportunities for children's clubs and youth groups - ‘Wild Play’ is a new project creating exciting play and adventure opportunities for children and young people at local nature reserves in Peterborough. If you are part of a local children's club or youth group get in touch to find out more.
Opportunities for community groups - There is a wide variety of opportunities for local groups to get involved in Peterborough. Some may visit local nature reserves, whilst others may get involved more regularly on a specific project. Activities include practical conservation work, educational activities and recreational tasks. To find out more, get in touch.
Family learning opportunities - Through special events, families can learn together about wildlife and wildlife habitats at local nature reserves and other green spaces.
Wildlife Training Workshops give people the opportunity to learn more about different aspects of local wildlife to enjoy and understand the countryside better.
Wildlife Trust Ecology Groups are teams of volunteers covering clusters of nature reserves with similar habitats. Their main activity is fieldwork throughout the year, which requires natural history skills such as species identification, to monitor species and habitats and the way they are managed.
School membership - The Wildlife Trust offers a special programme for schools who wish to support our work through membership and learn more about helping wildlife.
Volunteering - There is also a range of volunteering opportunities people can get involved with.
