Package of support for Wildlife Trust
Bedfordshire business continues its support for local wildlife
Local business, Colpac Ltd, has wrapped up its support of The Wildlife Trust by joining its corporate membership scheme as Bedfordshire’s newest bronze corporate member. The Trust’s director, Nick Hammond, presented Neil Goldman, managing director of Colplac, with his certificate at Folly Wood on Tuesday 13 November. Expert staff then led a guided walk for Colpac staff to show them what makes the woodland so special.
Earlier this year Colpac, a packaging firm based in Flitwick close to Folly Wood, donated £500 to help secure this important woodland as a nature reserve. The company has been promoting its support of Folly Wood and the work of the charity on its range of recyclable sandwich packaging, the Appealable range.
Folly Wood is part of Flitwick Moor, which is recognised as a nationally important Site of Special Scientific Interest, lying along the river Flit between Flitwick and Ampthill. It is full of rare and unusual mosses, ferns, insects and birds, some of which are found nowhere else in the county. It is the Wildlife Trust’s newest nature reserve in Bedfordshire, purchased following a public appeal in May 2007.
Colpac’s Managing Director, Neil Goldman, said, “It is so important to preserve our precious national heritage. In our small island, we have to do everything possible to maintain the right equilibrium between the needs of nature and those of an increasing population. We are delighted to be part of that process".
Colpac has a world-wide reputation for design and development of paper board packaging, which are exported to over 30 countries. The family firm aims to combine the latest technology and manufacturing best practices with the personal touch that coincides with the ethos of trust and confidence in an independent business.
