Teacher training workshops in Peterborough

'Access to Environmental Education' workshops - book now!

The Wildlife Trust is offering the opportunity for teaching staff in Peterborough to discover how they can use their local environment to increase students appreciation and knowledge of the natural environment, whilst also meeting the needs of both the curriculum and extended schools programme.

Wildlife Trust staff are experienced environmental educators who aim to empower teachers to lead their own outdoor education sessions. The following training workshops aim to facilitate that delivery:

Access to Environmental Education for Key Stage 3

Location: Jack Hunt School
Date: Wednesday 6 February
Time: 4.15pm to 6.15pm

Access to Environmental Education for Key Stage 1&2

Location: Eye Church of England Primary School
Date: Tuesday 4 March
Time: 4pm to 6pm

Workshops are charged at £20 per head and payment is requested with booking.

Wildlife-rich local nature reserves and school grounds are areas of untapped educational potential. These workshops will encourage and assist teachers to develop and use these resources. The workshops will also highlight the support the Wildlife Trust can offer in terms of advice, services and further training opportunities.

These workshops are bought to you through the Wild Schools project, an exciting new project from the Wildlife Trust to help your school Go Wild!. The Wildlife Trust is working in partnership with Peterborough City Council to help deliver Extended Schools Services, a menu of exciting new services being offered to schools in Peterborough to help them use the environment to enhance children's and young people’s lives.

If you would like further information on the Wild Schools project, or to book a place on one of the workshops, please contact Wild Schools officer, Becky Naman, on 01733 890419 or email becky.naman (at) wildlifebcnp.org.
