The Wildlife Trust invites you a celebration event:
The launch of a new south Bedfordshire reserve, Fancott Woods and Meadows
Members and non-members of the Trust are warmly invited to an evening meeting to launch the newly acquired Wildlife Trust reserve, Fancott Woods and Meadows, on Wednesday 12 March 2008 at Chalton Village Hall, near Dunstable.
This Site of Special Scientific Interest recently purchased by The Wildlife Trust is a very good example of species rich neutral grassland - This habitat type is rare in Bedfordshire and less than 15,000 hectares remain nationally. The reserve contains wonderful flower rich meadows and a traditional bluebell woodland near the source of the River Flit.
Please come along to the event to find out about this exciting new reserve and meet your local Wildlife Trust staff. During the evening, presentations will be given about our exciting plans for the reserve, as well as information about other great work we’re doing across the county. There will also be plenty of opportunities to chat to our staff and enjoy the refreshments.
The event is taking place at Chalton Village Hall, Water End Lane, Chalton, LU4 9UL between 7.30pm and 9pm. Click here for a map. If you require any further information, please contact the Wildlife Trust’s Bedfordshire office on 01234 364213 or email bedfordshire [at] wildlifebcnp.org.
