A mad March hare or a chocolate Easter bunny?

The Trust is offering a healthy alternative to chocolate this Easter!

The Adopt a species initiative provides the opportunity to give a really unique, personal and local gift for Easter - or birthdays and anniversaries!

You can adopt one of six of our counties’ precious native species from as little as £10, directly helping the Trust protect these creatures’ habitats to ensure they are with us for years to come.

All six species desperately need the Trust’s help to survive. Three of these are:-

  • The delightful water vole, otherwise known as 'Ratty' from Wind in the Willows, which the Trust was thrilled to hear has just been declared a nationally protected species by law
  • And who could resist the cute little dormouse, who thanks to constant monitoring and habitat improvement, is again developing a stronghold locally
  • Or for a more traditional Easter gift, how about adopting a 'Mad March Hare'? Now is the perfect time of year to look out for their boxing spectacle, when the females are fighting off amorous beaus

Lucky recipients of an adoption will receive:-

  • An Adoption certificate
  • A fact sheet giving you all the information on your adopted species locally
  • A lifelike photograph
  • A card ‘pop-up’ model of your species to cut out and make
  • Colouring sheets (for adoptions for children)

For more information on how to take up this exciting new gift for a great cause, simply download our special adoption leaflet, fill it in and post or fax it back to us.
