A batty barbeque
Food and fun at Grafham Water Nature Reserve
Bats and burgers added to a balmy summer evening at Grafham Water on Saturday 15 July when Huntingdon Area Local Members Group had their annual summer bash, which attracted over 100 people.
During a delicious barbeque, Henry Arnold’s tales of our local bats enthralled guests, whilst others investigated the diet of local barn and tawny owls by dissecting their pellets. Guests were then whisked up to the woods, where they enjoyed a series of guided walks.
As dusk fell, moths bombarded Barry Dickerson’s light trap, whilst glow-worms twinkled along the edge of the paths. A wonderful evening was had by all those who attended. The Wildlife Trust would like to thank the enthusiastic volunteers from the local group for hosting this excellent event.
