‘Spooky’ spiders – A Hallowe'en special
On 29 October, The Wildlife Trust ran a special Hallowe'en event for families to look for spiders and other creatures using special nets.
The event started at Peterborough Museum with a walk to The Boardwalks Local Nature Reserve, where adults and children hunted for these amazing little eight-legged animals, made furry spiders to take home, as well as their own 'world wide web'.
Rachel Price, community wildlife officer for The Wildlife Trust said: "Everyone who came along was amazed at the number of different spiders living in Peterborough. Spiders come in all colours and sizes, and have a mind-boggling variety of ways for getting through life, from webs to parachutes and air bubbles.”
The event was part of The Trust’s 'Go Wild' Project, supported by Perkins and The local Biological Records Centre. For more information, please contact Rachel Price on 01733 890419 or Rachel.Price@wildlifebcnp.org
