Learn more about your local wildlife
Bedfordshire residents offered a rare treat by Wildlife Trust
Want to learn about the wildlife hotspots you have right on your doorstep? The Wildlife Trust are running a Beginning with Bedfordshire Wildlife event at Cooper’s Hill nature reserve, situated on the western outskirts of Ampthill on Sunday 5 April 2009.
The event one of a few "Beginning with Wildlife” workshops aimed at people who are new to a particular area, new to The Wildlife Trust, or people who just want to know more about their local wildlife. In addition to presentations, the events will include a short, guided walk around a reserve.
Henry Stanier, Ecology Groups Officer said: “The wildlife in Bedfordshire is exceptional and we are looking for local people to get in touch with what's around them by learning where, when and how they can see it”.
Cooper’s Hill Nature Reserve is Bedfordshire’s largest remaining area of heathland. The reserve contains large areas of heather, together with birch, oak, gorse and broom scrub and is home to an enormous variety of wildlife.
