Open day at Summer Leys Nature Reserve
Fun for all the family on Sunday 10 May
The Friends of Summer Leys group has organised an open day at the reserve on Sunday 10 May, in the wake of a successful Easter event for all the family.
The new group, based at the Northamptonshire reserve, is offering activities for all ages from between 10am and 4pm, including a guided bird-spotting walk, and wildlife activities for children.
There was an excellent turn-out at the Easter event, which saw visitors trying their hand at pond dipping and bug hunting, as well as exploring this fantastic reserve. Children also took part in a butterfly and moth colouring competition. The organisers are hoping to repeat the success of this event on 10 May
Summer Leys Local Group member, Lynn McIntosh, said: “Some people had travelled quite a way to join us, others were local, but everyone we spoke to really loved Summer Leys and all the improvements The Wildlife Trust has made ”.
