Experience Springwatch live
It’s that time of year again; when the country is reminded of the wonders of British wildlife and tunes in to the the BBC’s Springwatch to watch wild adventures unfold.
Kate Humble and Simon King are joined this year by Chris Packham and a whole host of wild stars. Already audiences are falling in love with the robin family; watching the lapwings defend their two chicks against the harassing crows; and marvelling at the dedication of the wren and willow warbler pairs feeding their chicks.
But these wild tales are not just unfolding on television. They are being mirrored across the British Isles, in your very own garden and local Wildlife Trust nature reserves. Why not get out there and witness these wildlife stars, live and in the flesh?
The Wildlife Trusts are on hand to help you get out and experience your local wildlife. You can:
- Visit a local reserve in the region
- Get involved with events, training and volunteering opportunities
Springwatch is also encouraging viewers to ‘get out and get dirty’: whether it be composting, making a pond or wood pile, baking treats for birds or just going for a wild walk, you can do your bit to appreciate and enjoy the wildlife gems in this region.
Please follow the links to find out how you can get involved in the Dirty Weekend and What's on? at The Wildlife Trust.
You can tune in to the live Springwatch programme every Monday to Thursday at 8pm on BBC2, or check out all the action on the Springwatch website
