Himalayas to the Indian Ocean: A wildlife and cultural journey through India

An illustrated talk by new corporate member on Wednesday 6 December

Jo Thomas, founder and manager of local wildlife travel company, will be giving a slide presentation to the Wildlife Trust Huntingdon Area Group at Brampton Parish Church Hall, Church Road, Brampton at 7.30pm.

Jo is well known in the local area by communities and businesses alike, after working for the Wildlife Trust for 14 years as a warden at Grafham Water Nature Reserve, then as business development manager, before setting up her own business, Wild About India, in 2005.

Commenting after her business recently became a Corporate Member of the Wildlife Trust, Jo Thomas stated “The sight of an endangered Bengal tiger in the wild is incredible, but we mustn’t forget that in Britain we have amazing and rare species that we need to fight just as hard to protect. I want to ensure that my children and my grandchildren will still be able to see amazing wildlife on their doorstep in this country as well as abroad.”

Whether it’s a Tiger Safari or the Taj Mahal that inspires people to want to book their flights, Wild About India helps independent travellers to design their own wild itineraries to suit their specific interests, budgets and timescales, while simultaneously supporting the communities and wildlife that they’re visiting. Jo added, “I hope I’ve shown that it really is possible to ensure that even a small business can find the funds to help their local Wildlife Trust. I am really proud that we’ve achieved this so early in our company’s history and I hope that other businesses, both large and small, will be inspired by this and follow suit.”
