Wildlife gets a boost from Bedfordshire school children

Over £600 is raised in a wildlife quizquest

Bedford High Junior School pupils raised the fantastic sum of £662 for the local Wildlife Trust by inviting family and friends to be tested on their wildlife knowledge in a QuizQuest, a wildlife quiz with a difference.

Linda Marshall, the Trust’s community fundraiser, presented the school with a thank you certificate. Also, many of the pupils earned a special ‘Wild About Life’ t-shirt and baseball cap by raising £20 with the ‘20-20’ Challenge, which aimed to raise awareness of the serious impact the 20th Century has had on our countryside, including the fact that 20% of wild flowers are now in danger of becoming extinct.

Linda Marshall said “the pupils have helped bring local people and wildlife together with their tremendous fundraising efforts. They should feel very proud of this achievement, which will help protect wildlife in our three counties and help us to plan for the future with our extremely important education and conservation work”.
